Oludeniz Cable Car

Reaching the Ölüdeniz Cable Car from Sarigerme takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes, only if there is absolutely no traffic. Google Maps will show this as the estimated time, but in reality, due to heavy tourism, traffic is usually heavy, especially when entering Fethiye and continuing toward Ölüdeniz. Most transfers, excursions and trips in the region start around the same time, which adds to the congestion.

The easiest and quickest option is an early private transfer, which lets you avoid traffic, travel comfortably, and enjoy a smooth journey with no time pressure.

Summer Tip:
If you’re travelling during peak season, make sure to use the toilets before starting your journey. Traffic often comes to a standstill, especially between Fethiye and Ölüdeniz. An early start is highly recommended to avoid the rush and enjoy a more pleasant experience.

The ride takes around 20 minutes up to the 1700-meter station, home to the famous paragliding launch pad. Here, you’ll find a café where you can relax with a drink while watching paragliders prepare and take off. It’s an incredible opportunity to witness the idyllic views of Ölüdeniz from above—an ideal spot for photographers and even those planning a memorable proposal.

The 1700 m runway is the most frequently used paragliding launch point in the summer and is often seen as the cover photo for Babadağ paragliding. There is a spacious terrace where you can enjoy your coffee or drink, along with a restaurant and toilets. You can also watch cable cars passing just beneath the bridge that leads to the terrace.
If you’re considering paragliding yourself, this is one of the runways with the highest chance of being used for take-off.

There are several restaurants. The restaurant located at 1700 meters, where flights are most frequent, and takeoffs can be easily observed, is usually preferred. It’s worth mentioning that this restaurant has very skilled chefs. Our favourite is to have breakfast, dinner during sunset, or the hamburger menu here.
