Sarigerme Local Transport

Shuttle Minibuses or Dolmush run every Half Hour through the Village, from Hilton and Tui Blue Hotels to Sarigerme Public Beach, for under one euro—kids under six are free*.

The Dolmus (dolmush) public shuttle buses operate from Sarigerme to Ortaca Town and Dalaman Town every day of the Week.
You can board a dolmus anywhere along its route by signalling it to stop. Similarly, you can get off at a convenient point anywhere along the road. The dolmus’s destination is posted on the windscreen.

In summer, Dolmush starts operating from Sarigerme at 7.15 a.m., every half an hour thereafter. Lastly, the Dolmush from Ortaca Bus Station departs for Sarigerme at 9 p.m.
Please note that you must pay in Turkish Lira for the Taxi or dolmuş to ensure the driver receives it. Otherwise, don’t expect your exact amount or exchange rate to change.

Dolmush’s starting point in Sarigerme is the Hilton Hotel (from June), Pass Tui Blue Hotels and proceed to Sarigerme Village (for Ortaca, you’ll change to Ortaca Dolmush – Driver will help). Those with “Public Beach” written on their windscreen continue towards Public Beach. From Hotels to Sarigerme Village and to the public Beach is 60 TL. (£1 )

Dolmush Main Bus

Suppose you wish to go to Ortaca Town (for Ortaca Pictures, click here). When in Sarigerme Village, Flag down a Dolmuş passing by with a sign on the windscreen reading ORTACA. With this Dolmush, you can get to Ortaca for 115 TL per person. If you can, pay in the local currency; otherwise, you may not receive the correct change.

Sarigerme Shuttle Buses (Dolmush) drive through Fevziye Village, Güzelyurt Village,  Akıncı Village, and Dikmekavak Village before reaching Ortaca Bus Station. The journey takes about 40 minutes.

Another Example: If you prefer to travel by public transport to the Cable Car in Oludeniz, Fethiye, allow at least 2.5 hours one way for what can be a slightly stressful journey, and make sure to empty your bladder beforehand.

• Take a Dolmuş from Sarigerme to Dalaman.
• From Dalaman, take a bus to Fethiye.
• In Fethiye, take another bus towards Ölüdeniz.
• Before reaching Ölüdeniz, inform the driver that you want to get off at the Cable Car (Teleferik) stop.

For the return, flag down a dolmuş from the main road and return to Fethiye before making your connections back.

If you wish to go to Dalaman Town from Sarigerme Village, Flag down a Dolmush passing by with a DALAMAN sign on the windscreen. With this Dolmush, you can get to Dalaman for 90 TL per person—the last bus from Dalaman to Sarigerme departs at 6.30 pm. Or you can take a shuttle bus from Ortaca Bus Station.

DO YOU NEED A TAXI? 

Yes, there are taxi Stands almost on every corner; Turkey is not in shortage when comes to Taxi Stands. The question is, do you need a Taxi?

It is cheap and it is safe- compared to reckless driving amongst Taxi drivers-,

Long-distance Bus journeys can be relatively comfortable with regular refreshing breaks. Most companies do provide during the journey, snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic) for free of charge. Also, most Bus Companies do have touch screens in front of every seat offering a variety of Films, Tv Channels, music etc., which adds to the comfort. When considering all these, prices are unbelievably low.

Ortaca Town Bus Station (ORTACA OTOGAR)

Bus journeys can be made to destinations ranging from long to short at this small but fully operational bus station. Buses are marked on their windscreens with the name of their final destination.

If you return to Sarigerme the same day, ensure you know the time of the last Dolmush departing from the Ortaca bus station. This information is marked and signposted clearly where the Dolmushes are parked. Ask the driver if you are unsure; that way, you will know when to return to the Ortaca Bus Station to depart. See the table above.

Fethiye and Marmaris are about one and a half hours from Ortaca. Know your journey times ahead to avoid missing your last Dolmush to Sarigerme; otherwise, you will need a Taxi, which will be considerably more expensive than a Dolmush.

There are a few cafes and shops at the bus stations that sell food and drinks, and plenty of seating areas. Bus stations are relatively safe places, with many CCTV cameras and security measures in place.
