Advice on Excursions: In addition to the information we have provided about the excursions, the following suggestions will also be helpful.

All excursions are fun and exciting; however, some must be done at a particular time of day and during certain months of the year. This is crucial to enjoying the excursion to its full potential.

Example:

• Dalyan Mud Bath: The tour can be less enjoyable in July and August when the weather is too hot and the boats are crowded with visitors from around the country. We recommend booking a private trip; this way, you can start your journey two hours before and avoid the above issues. It does make a huge difference. All other times of the year are OK.

 

• Fethiye Oludeniz: Although the distance from Fethiye to Oludeniz isn’t that far when travelling in July and August, due to traffic congestion, it takes three times longer to get there. So, make sure you have plenty of water with you and an empty bladder. We recommend booking a private trip; this way, you can start your journey two hours before and avoid all the above by visiting Oludeniz first. It does make a huge difference. All other times of the year are OK.

During the peak season, from mid-June to the first week of September, roads are congested and extremely hot, making it unpleasant for both the young and the elderly. Book your trip privately for your party, or hire a minibus with a driver. and dont forget to ask for the trip to be started earlier when booking, to avoid the traffic congestion.

The above are only two examples. On some excursions, the earlier you start, the better, to avoid the masses and traffic queues. Hence, we recommend booking private tours.

• • Are you visiting in April?

Please be aware that excursions and activities in April are very limited or nonexistent in the area. We have limited services on several excursions. Every year, hundreds of families are unable to enjoy excursions simply because they wait until the last minute. We advise and recommend that you make the arrangements well in advance to avoid any disappointments. See the big note on this towards the bottom of the page.

Visa Issues

The Turkish Government has announced that British and EU Citizens are exempt from visas for tourist visits of up to 90 days within 180 days starting from the first entry date. You can obtain the latest information directly from the website mentioned below.

Deal with only one Gov Website;

There is only one legitimate Website to obtain a Visa for Turkey: https://www.evisa.gov.tr; all other websites are not legitimate, and you must avoid them. They collect the required information, enter your details into the Turkish Gov website, and email the Visa back to you. The proceeder takes a couple of minutes; paying extra money is unnecessary on those sites.

The only Official Visa issuing Website is https://www.evisa.gov.tr

The application is straightforward. Fill in the forms, provide your email address, and pay with your debit/credit card; you will receive your Visa at your email address. Do you need to print them out? No, not; however, keep a copy on your phone. On arrival at the passport check, when they scan your passport, it comes up on their screen whether or not you have obtained a tourist visa. Of course, there is nothing wrong with being on the safe side and bringing your printed copies along.

Be aware of Social Media Accounts:

Some “Local” Social Media Accounts (FB) have been selling products online, such as Bags, Jewellery, Watches and Clothing, including Shoes. We have received many complaints and asked for help from the people who have been shopping from these local social media accounts as they have experienced terrible service when they returned the item in its original condition and asked for a refund or when confronted about the misleading adverts they have been blocked, including those who questioned their services. Avoid becoming a statistic by simply not shopping with them.

These accounts ban or restrict access to legitimate local businesses who dont want to pay commissions to Hotels Social Media accounts.

These accounts are known to be run by British holiday reps or immigrants residing in the area who are posting ads on behalf of the hotel shops or businesses they gain commissions. It’s all fine if you are happy with the products, but do not expect any after-sale customer service or a refund from this bunch.

According to the new regulation by The Ministry of Transport, all customers must provide their full name (as it appears on their passports) and passport numbers to all Airport Transfer and excursion-tour companies.

The transfer company must provide the passengers’ details when booking. The operating company will pass the passengers’ details via a secure online system to The Ministry of Transport one hour before the Transfer/Tour.
